Charity League Supports PAA

The Charity League of Martinsville-Henry County recently donated $2,500 to the Piedmont Arts Association.  Sarah Robertson (right), First Vice President of The Charity League, presents the check to Kathy Rogers, Executive Director of Piedmont Arts.

Local Organizations Receive Charity League Donations

The Charity League is proud to support local organizations that promote positive development in youth in our community.  Since it began in 1931, The Charity League has sponsored a wide array of children's programs to promote growth and development of children throughout Martinsville and Henry County.

Recently, Sarah Robertson, 1st Vice President, presented a check for $1,000 to Lisa Nunn, Executive Director of The Boys and Girls Club.

Kayla Craddock, Fundraising Secretary, presented a check in the amount of $3,000 to Donna Proctor, Executive Director of Grace Network.

Kayla also presented a check for $500 to Smart Beginnings.  Melanie McLarty, Director of Smart Beginnings, and Tiffani Underwood, Executive Director of the United Way of Henry County & Martinsville, received the check on behalf of Smart Beginnings.

A $500 donation was made to the Blue Ridge Library to support children's programs.  Leighann Harris presented the check to Janet Boucher, children's librarian.

Bargain Fair Has A New Home!

Charity League's Annual Bargain Fair is October 5th, 8:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. Bargain Fair will be in our new location, 101 E. Commonwealth Boulevard. This is in the old Tultex factory. Enter at the intersection of Commonwealth and Lester Street. There will be plenty of signs and ladies in pink directing traffic so you can welcome us in our new home. Help us spread the word of our new venue. See you at Bargain Fair!
