Congratulations to the 2022 Scholarship Recipients

The Charity League of Martinsville and Henry County awarded 28 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each to area high school graduates and college students for the 2022-2023 academic year. The Charity League, established in 1931, strives to promote growth and development of children throughout Martinsville and Henry County through education and health programs.

Melissa Anderson, daughter of Mark Anderson and Lisa Honaker, will attend Virginia Commonwealth University.


Savannah Brown, daughter of Jeffrey and Renee Brown, will attend Roanoke College.


Delaney Burris, daughter of Jamie and Becky Burris, will attend Radford University.


Hailey Chitwood, daughter of John and Kim Chitwood, will attend Ferrum College.


Kennedy Coleman, daughter of William Coleman and Tracie Lawson, will attend George Mason University.


Sydney Compton, daughter of Denise Compton and Chris Compton, will attend the University of Virginia.


Julianna Cox, daughter of Angela Vessella and Jason Cox, will attend the College of William and Mary.

Bargain Fair Public Drop-Off announced for 2020!

May 25, 2020

The summer drop-off dates for Bargain Fair 2020 have been announced. These may require us to adhere to social distancing guidelines, so please check our facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/charityleaguemhc) for updates before planning to attend a drop off. You may need to schedule an appointment in advance to attend! All of our drop-off events will take place at our warehouse - 242 Franklin St Martinsville. Each drop-off will last from 9am to 12pm. As always, email charityleague@gmail.com with any questions.

The Charity League has made adjustments this spring to ensure the safety of its members and the community during this COVID crisis. This included canceling certain events and moving meetings online. Touch-a-Truck 2020 Cancelled
