This year’s dessert social held April 20 at the Parish House, was another great success for the Charity League of Martinsville and Henry County. The turnout was fantastic and everyone seemed taken with the smorgasbord of
wonderful food, the beautiful flower arrangements on display, and the group of amazing women that were present. 
     For actives and sustainers, this is always a great chance to catch up with those ladies they have not seen in a while as well as a chance to meet the new members of the League. Groups of women could be overheard making plans to “go out” immediately following the event so that they might continuethe evening’s festivities. As new members walked through the front door, their eyes widened at the sheer number of people surrounding them. However, by the end of the evening, all eleven women looked completely at home among us, ready
to start their first year as members of the Charity League of Martinsville
and Henry County! As sustainers drifted out, they thanked us for the wonderful evening, great food, and even better company. As always we are looking forward to the promise of another successful year.
