Several years ago, past president, Leanne Fuller planted the seed in my mind that I may want to become involved on the board as second Vice- President. I was, at that time, worried if I would be capable of such a feat. I was also truly honored and would like to thank her for her encouragement and faith in me. It has been such a privilege to have served Charity League as president this year. I would also like to thank this year’s board, active, and provisional members for your dedication. The league has accomplished so much this year because of all of your efforts. It is amazing how much can be done by a group of women for the sake of children. Charity League holds a very special place in my heart for many reasons. One of those being the dear friendships I
have made. I will be passing the tiara and gavel to one of those very dear friends, Janine Jacob. I look forward to seeing all that the league will accomplish for our community's children next year. Janine is one of the most creative, bright, and dedicated women I know, not to mention one incredible
baker. With Janine as president, I know that the League is truly in capable hands.
           Beverly Cecil

I would like to thank Beverly for her amazing leadership over the past year. She has been such a creative force for the League (the Holiday Premiere was her brainchild!) and a source of constant encouragement and dedication to all of us. As we approach the League’s 80th Anniversary, I look forward to following in her footsteps and further building upon the progress that we have made in the diversity of our fundraising projects, our strong relationships with Sustaining members and our outreach into the Martinsville-Henry County community. With 12 incoming Provisionals and 45 Active members, I am confident that this year will be filled with many successful fundraisers, exciting ideas for future projects, and the building of new friendships and the strengthening of existing ones.
