The Charity League of Martinsville-Henry County rallied together with the help of generous business, organization and individual donations to make 650 stockings for children ages 2-12 in Martinsville-Henry County.

 

“We understand that the need is greater than ever for the children in our area, and while the economy is still in a tough spot, this group of ladies knew that we needed to work hard and create as many stocking as we possibly could” said Libby Wood, chairperson of the stocking committee.

 

The stocking contents varied this year from toys and books appropriate for all ages and genders as well as oral hygiene products donated by many of the generous dentists in the area.

 

“This league and its projects are so beneficial to children in our area and because of Libby Wood and her stocking committee, we were able to help children in need have a brighter Christmas than they believed possible” commented Beverly Cecil, Charity League President.
