My, how time flies when you’re having fun. It is hard to believe Bargain Fair has come and gone. Bargain Fair 2009 was one of the most efficient I have ever attended. Dee Moyer and Pam Vann Nutt, you ladies did a great job as this year’s Chair and Co-chair!!!!! Our profits for Bargain Fair were higher this year than last due in part to a great turnout for the Preview Party. Diane Sawyer and Michelle Isernia’s efforts in this area were outstanding. 

Charity League has been very busy this year. Two new fundraising events have been added. The Charity League of Martinsville and Henry County’s 1st Annual “It’s for the Kids 5K” was a great success. Many thanks to Laura Jones and Janine Jacob for planning this awesome event. We will have a date soon for the 2nd Annual 5k. 

The 1st Annual Holiday Premiere will be hosted by the ladies of Charity League November 6th, 7th, and 8th. Holly Kozelsky has done a fabulous job organizing and planning for this new fundraiser. We are hoping for a huge success and that this will become a yearly event as well. As you can see we have really tried to be innovative this year. 

During this time of national economic crisis and the particular challenges our local community faces with high
unemployment, we continue to endeavor to do our part to help the children of this area. It is our goal to increase the amount of contributions we make to our community’s children. As always, we appreciate the support of our sustainers, and sincerely hope that we are making you proud striving to enhance “The League” and our community.
