The annual Board of Governors meeting was
held on Thursday, February 12th at the home of Kim
Snyder. Approximately 20 past presidents gathered
to hear the state of the league address presented by
President Tiffani Underwood. Underwood updated
the board on the activities and placements of the 34
active league members. Some of the highlights
from 2008 included the first annual Pro-Am Putt-Putt
tournament, increased profits from Bargain Fair, and
providing 620 stockings to the Salvation Army for
area children in need. Underwood also gave the
Treasurer’s Report, which resulted in a net loss, due
to the volatile 2008 stock market and 1st Vice
President Beverly Cecil reported that 25
scholarships were awarded to area students in 2008.
Following the reports and discussion,
Underwood invited all the board members and their
families to participate in the 2nd Annual Pro-Am
Putt-Putt tournament on March 20th and also
advised them to stay tuned for more information on
a 5K race to benefit the Charity League and United
Way.
