Charity League members and sustainers will see some changes in this year's Bargain Fair in efforts to restore the event to the greater profitability of earlier years.

The League's famous yearly fundraising sale will be held Saturday, October 4, 2008. The Preview Party will be held Friday, October 3 at 7 p.m.

• Pick-up of donations will be made when you have stuff to donate – not just in the summer as in some years past. Please call upcoming Bargain Fair Chair Holly Kozelsky, at 919-548-9748, or send her an e-mail at hkozelsky@gmail.com to arrange pick-up. Also, please pass the word out among your friends and neighbors that we will pick up donations.

Active members, everyone will need to pitch in to pick up donations. Members who pick up and price donations in the winter and spring will only have to work one marking party in the warehouse during the hot, sticky months of summer, not two as would otherwise be required.

• Pricing will be reconsidered to be sure we are charging appropriately for merchandise. Please give your advice and ideas on pricing.

• The Preview Party is getting bigger and better. Each sustainer and member will be able to bring four guests, not one as in previous years. We're not just dragging along husbands anymore … think of your children, grandchildren, employees or co-workers and others who are at a time in life when they could stock up on things at great bargains.
