Bargain Fair's Preview Party will be held from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12 at the National Guard Armory on Commonwealth Boulevard. The event will be catered by Rachael Revell's Sasafras Catering.

The Preview Party gives sustainers and members the first chance of shopping at Bargain Fair as well as an opportunity to socialize and to enjoy the refreshments, heavy hors D'oeurves and wine. Sustainers and members may purchase items at 50 percent markup at the Preview Party, and each is invited to bring a guest. The Preview Party will be staffed by the provisional class which will work in shifts.

Bargain Fair will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13. Members should arrive at the Armory by 7:30 a.m. and expect to stay until 3 p.m.

This year's Bargain Fair includes a particularly large selection of outdoor furniture, including chairs, lounges, tables and umbrellas.

There also are several water toys and rafts as well as some pool equipment.

In the Treasures department is a Coach bag and several vintage toys and knick-knacks.

Other dates active members should plan for in connection with Bargain Fair include:

• The board meeting and general meeting both will be held at the Armory building Tuesday, Oct. 9. The board meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the general meeting after that. Following the meetings, members will set up the warehouse until 9 p.m.;
• Delivery will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 10-11;

Since 1969, Bargain Fair has been the single largest fundraising event that the Charity League holds each year. Proceeds from Bargain Fair help determine the operating budget for the following year and allow the League to continue to be of service to the community.
