Bargain Fair was a success again this year!  We had a profitable weekend and grossed over $22,000.  The active members want to thank all sustainers that participated and donated goods to this year’s event and especially sustainer JoAnne Sanders for lending a very appreciated helping hand!

Our “Treasures” department sold over $1,600 and this is due in part to being our best year ever in furniture donations from local companies.  The furniture donations included: a leather desk chair by Stanley Furniture, a writing desk by Hooker Furniture, a vanity sink with cabinet by Bassett Furniture Industries, 10 side chairs by AC Furniture, a sofa bed by American of Martinsville, a chair with ottoman by Furniture Crafters, a clock and a mirror by Bassett Mirror and a side chair by Shenandoah Furniture.  The Charity League appreciated all the generous donations.

Tiffany Coleman and the Member Events committee did an excellent job with the Preview Party this year.  Many active members and sustainers were able to socialize with friends while getting a first chance at all of the great deals.  Even Tiffany’s beautiful flower arrangement from the Preview Party was sold on Saturday.  The Preview Party grossed over $5000 with food and goods sales. 

A special thank you to Erica Schulze Ising and Pam Van Nutt for co-chairing this year’s Bargain Fair and to Michelle Norris and Lee Anne Fuller for all of their hard work.  The 37^th annual Bargain Fair would not have been as prosperous without these ladies.
