Preview Party is all the RAVE!

With just over eight weeks until our largest annual fundraiser, the members of the League have been busy pricing items at home and at warehouse marking parties, and picking up donations from their sustainers. The Bargain Fair Committee members have been contacting local businesses for Silent Auction donations, picking up many van and truck loads of donations from sustainers and the general public, and making preparations for the week leading up to Bargain Fair.
I believe Bargain Fair is as successful as it is because all the women in Charity League, be they active or sustainer, work together to promote the mission of the League, which is to serve the children in Martinsville and Henry County. The sustainers I've worked with this year have been exceedingly generous with donations, and the local businesses have proven that our mission is not limited just to the women of Charity League.
Our Silent Auction is shaping up to be the best I've seen in my three years in the League, and I am anticipating a very successful Preview Party/Silent Auction as a result of the generosity of area businesses. Once again, Bassett Furniture has donated several beautiful pieces and sets, the YMCA has given a Family Membership, Chick-fil-a is donating a catered lunch, and other businesses are choosing the items they will be donating. We will be displaying samples of the items for the auction on the Charity League website over the next few weeks, so please check back often to see updates.
Donations for Bargain Fair are accepted year-round, and are tax-deductible. Please consider the League for all your donations, no matter how large or small. If you do not have an active contact within the League, please email CLbargainfair@gmail.com to arrange to have your items picked up. This year's Bargain Fair Chair is Chandres Pickett. New to our silent auction this year is a guaranteed purchase price. At anytime that evening you may stop the bidding by agreeing to pay the guaranteed purchase for that item. It is much like the "buy it now" feature on e-bay.
This set of Fincastle Nesting Tables pictured below is valued at $469. Bidding will open at $100, and the guaranteed purchase price of $400.
