The annual Board of Governors meeting took place on January 19, 2011 at Hillcroft, the home of Cindy Edgerton. Cindy Edgerton and Lee Anne Fuller hosted the event. 
     League President, Janine Jacob, updated the approximately 24 past presidents in attendance on the various activities and placements of the League, as well as the successful fundraisers which took place in 2010. 
     In addition, Jacob discussed the $6,000.00 donation the League made to fund a wooden shipwreck as part of the Hooker Discovery Reef children’s exhibition at the Virginia Museum of Natural History. She also noted that the League would be welcoming eight new members as the class of 2017. 
     Treasurer Jennifer Nease reported that the League’s 2010 fundraisers were profitable. The net income to the League for all of its fundraisers was $25,681.00. 
     First Vice-President Tammy Moore announced that the League awarded twentyseven $1,000.00 scholarships to college-bound high school seniors and renewable applicants for the 2010-2011 academic year. 
     Following the reports and discussion, Jacob invited all board members to attend the 80th Anniversary Gala and to participate in the planning of two service days in 2011 to celebrate the League’s milestone. Board attendees also discussed the financial success of the League’s fundraisers during 2010 despite the economic downturn.
