Janine Jacob, President of the League, welcomed everyone to this milestone event and commended Actives and Sustainers for their 80 years of service to the children of our community. Soon afterward, Sustainer Heidi Pinkston introduced the Minds in Motion XXL group, which the League has supported for several years. This talented group of young people entertained the crowd with their high energy, dance moves, and storytelling all rolled into one. 
     During the event, First Vice-President Tammy Moore recognized the Gala’s sponsors: Henebry’s Jewelers, Daniel, Medley & Kirby, PC, Indulgence Day Spa & Salon, Elements, His & Hers Hair Salon, Reflections, Wild Magnolia, The Forum, and Chip Wyatt – State Farm Insurance. Moore presented gifts to several in attendance that were graciously donated by our Gala sponsors. Prizes donated included a pair of 14kt gold earrings, gift certificates for spa services, handmade custom jewelry, makeup and beauty supplies, and dining certificates. Joyous laughter erupted throughout the crowd when the earrings were awarded to Shane Pinkston, a manicure to Burr Fox, and hair care products to Jim Ford! 
     During dinner and into the night, the sounds of beach, boogie and blues were provided by The Magnificents Band from Burlington, North Carolina. The band certainly lived up to their name, as they were simply MAGNIFICENT! While tunes from the past and present filled the ballroom, Actives, Sustainers, and guests danced the night away. Without a doubt, lasting memories were created that will be remembered for years to come!
