October 9, 2012

As the morning mist cleared on Saturday, October 9th, the line to the door of the National Guard Armory became apparent. It would be a good Bargain Fair. Excitement was in the air - or was that baked goods and coffee? Whatever it was - the people where there waiting for untold treasures that lie within the Armory.

So much for the drama. Bargain Fair 2004 was a great success. Even with hard economic times still griping our community, local pride and confidence shines through with events like this one. Due to hard work, big hearts, and dedication, the members and sustainers of Charity League raised an estimated $26,300. This money will be used to fund various service projects this year, including: Missoula, Success by Six, screenings and scholarships.

Sharon Shepherd, Bargain Fair Chair and Erica Schulze-Ising, Co-Chair encouraged our group to make this 36th year a huge success. Their planning efforts made the preparations flow smoothly and orderly. Many hours went into the behind the scenes activities from picking up donations and coordinating marking parties to helping members manage their sanity as donations grew beyond the boundaries of their homes.

Sharon and Erica would like to extend a special thank you to each active member for her time and hard work. They greatly appreciate the merchandise donations from sustainers. Also, they would like to thank the sustainers that worked Bargain Fair. Their devotion to Bargain Fair and the League assures our continued success. Congratulations to all Charity League members and sustainers for making this another outstanding year!
